Ramjan now starting on 7th May

The culinary month of Ramadan begins on May 7. Actually, the moon of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak was not seen on Sunday, after that the announcement of Ramadan was started that it will be celebrated on 7th of May. The festival of Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on the first day of Shawwal after the 30 days of fast.

Ramadan moon was not seen across the country on Sunday including Delhi, so the initial Rosa will be on Tuesday. Imam Mufti Mukrram Ahmed of Delhi’s Shahi Fatehpuri mosque said that the meeting of the Moon Committee was held on Sunday evening, in which the news of the moon was not found anywhere. Delhi’s sky was clear but still moon did not show up.

He told that on Monday the Islamic month is on the 30th day of the month of Islamic calendar month and the 1st Ramzan are on 7th may. That’s why the first rosa will be on Tuesday.

According to a press release issued by Imam Ahmed Bukhari of Jama masjid, “There is not any moonlight in Delhi and other parts of the country, and there has not been any evidence of the looks of the moon.” Building-e-Sharia Hind also issued a press release, the moon didn’t show up on Sunday and declared it the first fast on May seven.

Significantly, keeping Roses is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. It is the duty of every healthy person to keep Ramadan fast. Before the prayer on the Day of Eid, the Fitra is distributed among the poor.

To keep Rosa, Muslims eat food before sunrise morning, after fasting and being thirsty for all day, and then they open Rosa (iftar) in the evening. All day pray for 5 days a day. Let us say, this Muslims month of Ramzan is also called the month of nobles.

  1. I often eat in a Bangladeshi restaurant near to my home in London UK. I always admire the Muslim waiters who serve food while they are fasting. I often think that it must be very difficult for them to smell all that delicious cooking, and to see others eating, while they are not allowed to enjoy food. Thanks for describing the photographs on your website. I am blind and use special software called Job Access with Speech or JAWS, which translates text into speech and braille allowing me to use a Windows computer. You describing the pictures on your site enables me to understand what they are and to appreciate them. Best wishes – Kevin
